Etiquette
No tipping. It can even confuse staff.
Trash bins are rare. Carry a small plastic bag and throw trash at your hotel or a konbini.
Many areas ask you not to eat while walking. Finish your snack at the stall.
Take off your shoes when you see a raised floor or slippers at the entrance.
Tattoos may be refused at public baths and onsen. Ask first or use a private bath.
Queue for everything, including the train door markings on the platform.
